Maybe the office is small in certain city (where it's not mentioned) or doesn't have a large engineering presence (but mainly sales/consulting etc). Or, there were enough other options that didn't make IBM a good entry for that city. Any city in particular where you think IBM would be a solid choice?
IBM has a big AI Research office in Zurich. Regarding pregistige, I think only FAAAMG and Nvidia are above. Same for salaries.

Dublin and Zurich. Btw IBM is arguably the biggest tech company after FAAMG (with an "M" and Nvidia).

Although IBM seems to mostly have sales in Zurich and development in Bern.
big tech for me it's not just about size but about salaries, prestige, working condition, quality tech and talent etc.
