Any specific reason on why Paris is #5? Paris is a fantastic city however the salaries are really low for the cost of living, I would frankly never recommend a single young person to move and start their career in SWE in Paris!

Depends on the company! If you’re in a high paying company it’s a great city

Isn’t Zurich supposed to be really boring? Or it’s just youtubers spreading lies hah

It is quite boring to be fair. At least for my taste :)

That said, for a lot of people isn't too boring: families, people who enjoy the outdoor or mountain activities, people who don't care too much about nightlife etc, or who like to travel a lot.

Zurich airport is basically inside the city and for example to me it takes only 30 minutes of public transport to reach it, from my apartment in the center. And then in 1 or 2 hours, you can reach most capitals in Europe. So you can go travel almost every (other) weekend you want. You can also reach Milan or Paris in a few hours of train.

During summer there's more stuff to do in Zurich as there's the lake and some rivers, so you can go BBQ by the water, spend the day at the beach etc. And there are many more events throughout the city, with it being sunny and not too hot.

Also in 2/3/4 hours of flight you can be in Greece, Sardinia, Turkey, Southern France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, etc.

In winter, if you like skiing, in less than 1 hour you can be on some slope in the alps. In 4 hours of flight you can also be in places with warm weather like Northern Africa, Canary Islands, Cyprus etc.

At the end of the day, while I might agree it's a bit boring compared to other cities in Europe, I think you can make up for it somehow, especially on the weekends. And for weekdays, there are enough spots to hangout in the city as well (being half a million people big, after all).

I would still put it as a number 1 city in Europe, because, even if it can be a bit boring, you get paid basically 2 times more what you are paid elsewhere in Europe, with taxes being lower, and with Switzerland having top quality quality of life in many metrics like education, healthcare, transportation, safety, political stability, low corruption etc.
