I totally agree. Living in Europe (esp. in a country with low income taxes) and working for good U.S. companies that pay above average for that country is a great trade off!

A little warning though: Working across timezones can be brutal, especially if most people that you need to interact with are on the west coast (9h time difference vs. CET!). Just something to keep in mind and discuss when you interview for the U.S. company.
